Blind Assessment
Sweetly nut-toned, chocolaty. Cocoa powder, roasted almond, pink grapefruit, caramel, nutmeg in aroma and cup. Mild but engaging acidity; velvety-smooth mouthfeel. Crisp finish with notes of cocoa powder and nutmeg.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers of Peru’s Asociación de Productores Cafetaleros Selva Central (APROSELVA) Cooperative and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying) and decaffeinated using a chemical-free water process. Founded in 1995 by Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell, Equator Coffees operates retail stores in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California and provides coffee to hundreds of wholesale accounts. Visit www.equatorcoffees.com or call 800-809-7687 for more information.
Bottom Line
A well-executed washed Peru decaf blend — the profile has confidence and clarity and doesn’t, like many decafs, sacrifice flavor.
