Blind Assessment: Crisply bright and fruit-toned. Red currant, dried cranberry, hazelnut, oak, almond blossom in aroma and cup. Brisk, bittersweet acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Dry berry and nut carry into a gently drying finish.
Notes: Produced from trees of the SL-28 variety of Arabica, the variety that produces the finest coffees of Kenya, at Finca Leoncio and milled at Herbazu micromill. Coffee Roasters Avenue is a small-batch coffee roaster based in Seoul, South Korea. Visit www.coffee-avenue.com for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Those who value the sweetly drying, pungent berry notes of fine Kenyas should enjoy this brisk, elegant experimental Costa Rica.
