Blind Assessment: Sweetly pungent, complex, original. Cherry-like fruit, brown sugar, roasted cacao nib, hints of clove and vanilla in aroma and cup. Crisp, lightly juicy acidity; light, silky mouthfeel. The cacao nib and spice in particular carry into a gently drying but sweet-toned finish.
Notes: Bean Fruit is a quality-oriented small-batch roaster based in Jackson, Mississippi, whose motto is a Biblical quotation from Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Visit www.beanfruit.com or call 601-624-2605 for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Those to whom an unusual flavor complex, sweet but pungent, deep-toned, slightly spicy, appeals.
