Blind Assessment
Soft, floral-toned. Almond blossom, cocoa nib, date, pear cedar in aroma and cup. Gentle, round acidity; smooth, very satiny mouthfeel. Quiet, sweet-toned finish with hints of almond blossom and pear.
Notes
Produced by smallholding members of the Association of Women Coffee Growers of West Huila (Asociación de Mujeres Cafeteras del Occidente del Huila), which makes up the Las Rosas Women’s Coffee Project, from trees of the Caturra and Castillo varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Founded in 1995 by Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell, Equator Coffees operates retail stores in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California and provides coffee to hundreds of wholesale accounts. Bottom Line
Balanced and comforting, this washed Colombia offers subtle complexity and familiar richness — and it’s a very nice medium roast.
