Blind Assessment
Deep, musky, complex, subtly spirits-toned. Oak, fruit-toned spirits, suggestions of butterscotch, banana bread and crisp roasted cacao nib in aroma and cup. Round, resonant acidity; plush, velvety mouthfeel. Flavor saturates a long, persistent finish.
Notes
One in a series of “cask-conditioned” coffees from Fresh Cup Roastery Cafe that it calls “infusions.” This version is a wet-processed green Costa Rica coffee branded Romelia from the Palmichal rainforest near the classic Tarrazu region. These green coffee beans were stored in oak casks that once held mead wine (made from marionberries, loganberries and gooseberries), infusing the beans with the flavors of the casks before roasting. Fresh Cup is a sustainability-focused micro-roaster that roasts using a proprietary electrically heated closed-loop air roaster. Visit www.freshcup.ca or call 250-652-5678 for more information. Who Should Drink It
Oak and subtle spirits notes tactfully complement a deeply expressive, classic coffee.
