Blind Assessment
Fragrant, layered, complex. Orange blossom, red currant, honey, sweet pipe tobacco, sugarcane in aroma and cup. Juicy, dynamic acidity; very plush, satiny mouthfeel. Refreshing finish leads with notes of red currant and orange blossom.
Notes
Produced by the Turihamwe women’s group, from trees of the Bourbon variety of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Established in 2010, Red Rooster is an organic-certified micro-roaster focusing on socially conscious, high-quality coffee. Visit redroostercoffee.com or call 540-745-7338 for more information.
Bottom Line
This women-farmed Burundi has sweet florals and deep red fruit notes and, with its refined acidity, is one of the nicest washed Burundis we’ve cupped in a long time.
