Blind Assessment
Deeply pungent, original, complex. Pecan, pomegranate, melon, lily-like flowers in aroma and cup. Rich, balanced acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The fruit notes in particular carry into a long, cleanly resonant finish.
Notes
Apasionado represents an unusual coffee program at the Finca Las Tacanas in Bolivia, through which the coffee lover adopts a tree. The first 12 ounces of coffee costs $39.00 and is roasted to order, and sent to the buyer along with a certificate of adoption with a picture of the tree. Those who have adopted trees then can order additional 12-ounce bags of coffee on demand that are roasted to order at $29.00 per bag. Tree-adopters are invited to visit the farm, take a tour, and have a picture taken with their tree. Production at Finca Las Tacanas comes from trees of the Red Catuai variety (80%) and the Typica variety (20%). The sample we received was roasted in Bolivia at Roaster Boutique, La Paz, and shipped fresh to the United States. Visit www.apasionadocoffee.com or call 1+303-973-3822 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
Those who enjoy a deeply pungent, resonantly fruit-toned coffee originating from an unusual program that invites both visual and sensory intimacy with the coffee source.
