Rusty's Hawaiian Coffee
100% Ka’u Coffee Medium Roast
|Roaster Location:||Pahala, Hawaii|
|Coffee Origin:||Ka'u growing district, southwestern corner of the "Big Island" of Hawaii.|
|Review Date:||August 2009|
Blind Assessment: Light-roasted, but brought along just enough to develop the delicate richness of a pure, subtle coffee. Gently pungent, orange-toned citrus in the aroma turns lushly orange-blossomy in the cup, complicated by a hint of cocoaish chocolate. Rich, flavor-saturated finish.
Notes: Ka'u is a newly emerging Hawaii coffee growing district centered thirty miles or so south of the famous Kona region. Ka'u farmer Lorie Obra meticulously picks, processes and roasts her coffees using traditional methods and artisan attention. Visit
Who Should Drink It: For many, this will be the quintessential Hawaiian coffee, fragrant, balanced, softly lively.
