Blind Assessment
Elegant and expressive. Notes of pink grapefruit, vanilla orchid, guava, vanilla and cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Bright, balanced acidity; silky, buoyant body. The finish is resonant and richly sweet, with citrus, floral and cocoa nib into the long.
Notes
Produced by Dennis Albert of Green Turtle Coffee Estate in the Wood Valley area of Ka‘ū, from trees of the Typica and Caturra varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Big Island Coffee Roasters is an award-winning coffee roaster operated with hands-on passion by Kelleigh Stewart and Brandon von Damitz. Visit www.bigislandcoffeeroasters.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A beautifully articulated washed Ka‘ū washed with radiant fruit and floral top notes supported by subtle cocoa depth — refined, transparent, enticing.
