Blind Assessment
Immensely rich, esoteric, deeply fruit-toned. Concord grape, ripe nectarine, hibiscus, molasses and roasted hazelnut in aroma and cup. Vibrant, sparkling acidity; exceptionally full, very syrupy mouthfeel. The finish is endless and enveloping, with Concord grape and tart floral notes into the long.
Notes
This coffee won 2nd place (Silver) in the Experimental category, International division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by Gala Suarez, from trees of the Typica and Bourbon varieties of Arabica, and processed by a proprietary double-anaerobic method, which includes whole-fruit anaerobic fermentation. Nine Point Coffee is a Taipei-based specialty roaster and cafe. For more information, visit Nine Point Coffee’s Facebook page.
Bottom Line
A striking Taiwan-grown coffee whose double-anaerobic processing builds extraordinary body and fruit intensity around an inherently deep, sweet and lyrically engaging cup.
