Blind Assessment
Sweetly complex, fruit-forward. Raspberry, bergamot, cocoa nib, candied ginger, honey in aroma and cup. Bright, juicy acidity; very syrupy mouthfeel. Layered finish with berry sweetness up front and lingering cocoa and spice in the long.
Notes
A blend of coffees from four distinct areas of Ethiopia: a natural, Guji Worka, and anaerobic natural Yirgacheffe, a honey-processed Qunquna, and a washed Yircheffe from Tadese Teko. Established in 2010, Red Rooster is an organic-certified micro-roaster focusing on socially conscious, high-quality coffee. Visit redroostercoffee.com or call 540-745-7338 for more information.
Bottom Line
A vibrant, multidimensional Ethiopia blend that lives up to its Halloween-themed name — exuberant fruit and floral character, grounded by cocoa and spice, make for an exciting, playful cup.
