Blind Assessment
Gently classic decaf. Cocoa powder, very lightly scorched cedar, dusk flowers, a hint of peach in aroma and cup. Gently and roundly bright in structure, silky in mouthfeel. Delicately tart finish.
Notes
Produced by small-holding farmers associated with the Tugwizikawa (“Let Us Rise”) cooperative, part of the progressive Rotheca Project in Burundi. From trees of Central-African Bourbon-related varieties, slow-dried in the fruit on raised tables. Torque Coffee pursues an unusual business model that promises 20 percent of the retail value of each coffee to its producer. Visit www.torquecoffees.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A gentle roasty edge rounds this pretty, peach-toned Burundi.
