Blind Assessment
Floral and fruit-forward in the aroma, suggesting dried cherry, dark chocolate, toasted walnut, cedar and orange zest. Balanced structure with a gentle, bright acidity; very full, syrupy mouthfeel. Clean, lingering finish with notes of toasted walnut and dark chocolate.
Notes
Fifth Heaven Coffee (Café Quinto Cielo in Spanish) is produced at Hacienda Tierra Viva in Puerto Rico by Laura Rivera and Blake Horwitz, from trees of the Limani, Fronton, Bourbon and Typica varieties of Arabica, processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit), and is roasted on the farm. Produced regeneratively and without the use of pesticides. Visit www.haciendatierraviva.com for more information.
Bottom Line
Deeply flavorful and beautifully balanced, this Puerto Rico coffee rewards coffee lovers looking for something genuinely distinctive from an unexpected origin.
