Blind Assessment
Evaluated as espresso. Dense, syrupy and deeply aromatic, with notes of black cherry, toasted grain, cocoa powder, almond and salted caramel in aroma and small cup. Velvety mouthfeel; crisply sweet, quiet finish. In cappuccino format, rich-toned, chocolaty and sweetly nutty.
Notes
Fifth Heaven Coffee (Café Quinto Cielo in Spanish) is produced at Hacienda Tierra Viva in Puerto Rico by Laura Rivera and Blake Horwitz, from trees of the Limani, Fronton, Bourbon and Typica varieties of Arabica, processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit), and is roasted on the farm. Produced regeneratively and without the use of pesticides. Visit www.haciendatierraviva.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A bold espresso that delivers satisfying roast-roundedness while retaining the natural sweetness and fruit complexity of the green.
