Blind Assessment
Intensely perfumed, vibrant and delicately sweet. Yellow nectarine, tamarind, narcissus, bergamot and wildflower honey in aroma and cup. Bright, finely structured acidity; silky, tea-like mouthfeel. The finish is long and aromatic, with resonant notes of nectarine, tamarind and wildflower honey.
Notes
This coffee earned Finalist recognition in the Traditional Washed category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by Oswaldo Ore of Finca Qillu Rumi, entirely of the SL-09 variety of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Cultivar Coffee is specialty roaster and neighborhood coffee bar located in East Dallas. Visit www.cultivarcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
An exceptional washed SL-09 with a strikingly floral, somewhat Geisha-like profile, layering narcissus and bergamot notes over succulent stone fruit and tamarind with impressive clarity, sweetness and finesse.
