Blind Assessment
Deep, savory-sweet and resonant. Black currant, cedar, molasses, dark chocolate, and clove in aroma and cup. Gentle, rounded acidity; syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is very long, with dark chocolate and cedar carrying into a warm, spicy resonance.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers surrounding the Asman Gayo mill, from trees of the Ateng, Bor Bor, Catimor and Timor varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). JBC Coffee Roasters’ vision is simple: “Let the coffee lead the way” through sourcing and roasting the best coffees available and rewarding the farmers who grow those coffees with substantial premiums. Bottom Line
An elegant washed Sumatra: sweet-savory, layered, and spice-toned, with both power and finesse.
