Blind Assessment
Aromatically intense and fruit-forward. Passionfruit, lychee, pink grapefruit zest, cocoa nib and orchid-like florals in aroma and cup. Acidity is crystalline and vibrant, body plush and silky. The finish is long, offering tropical-fruit sweetness, floral perfume and a hint of dark chocolate.
Notes
Produced at Hacienda La Esmeralda, entirely of the Geisha variety of Arabica, and processed by the anaerobic natural method, in which the whole fruit is fermented with limited oxygen before drying. Chuck’s Roast was founded by Chuck Patton, founder of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, to bring rare, often elusive coffees to discerning coffee lovers. Bottom Line
A standout anaerobic natural Geisha from Hacienda La Esmeralda with radiant fruit, floral nuance and impeccable structure, delivered with clarity and depth.
