Blind Assessment
Juicy, deep-toned. Concord grape, maraschino cherry, caramelized walnut, dark chocolate and sweet basil in aroma and cup. Gently winey acidity; plush, syrupy mouthfeel. The finish is exceptionally long, carrying rich berry, dark chocolate and sweet herb notes with remarkable integration.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers in collaboration with Gold Mountain Coffee growers, from trees of the Red Catuai and Caturra Estrella varieties of Arabica, and processed by the carbonic maceration method, which involves fermenting whole cherries in a sealed container that has been flushed with CO2, then drying in the whole fruit. Revel Coffee is a micro-roaster located in Billings, Montana. Its motto: “Quality is paramount — a difference you can revel in.” Visit www.revelcoffee.com or call 406-534-9621 for more information.
Bottom Line
A beautifully executed carbonic maceration from Nicaragua that delivers saturated fruit intensity and decadent sweetness while maintaining impressive balance and structure.
