Blind Assessment
Deep-toned, oaky, original. Blood orange, oak barrel, fresh leather, lavender, caramel in aroma and cup. Gently tart, lightly savory structure. Plump mouthfeel; deep but clean, lavender-toned finish.
Notes
All coffees in this Mocha-Java style blend are organic and fair-trade certified. It combines two coffees from the same Ethiopian producer, Kayon Mountain Estate, a floral washed-process and a fruit-toned natural-processed, with a wet-hulled coffee from the women-owned and operated Ketiara Cooperative in Aceh Province of Sumatra. Founded in 1995 by Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell, Equator Coffees operates retail stores in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California and provides coffee to hundreds of wholesale accounts. Visit www.equatorcoffees.com or call 800-809-7687 for more information.
Bottom Line
A complex cup in the Mocha-Java tradition, simultaneously rustic and elegant.
