Blind Assessment
Richly and sweetly pungent. Raspberry, humus, brandy, pistachio, and a clean hint of petrichor in aroma and cup. Bittersweet in structure; syrupy in mouthfeel. Humusy earth notes turn toward chocolate in a simple yet long, sweet-toned finish.
Notes
A natural-processed Ethiopia and wet-hulled Sumatra make up this low-toned but vibrant version of the Mocha-Java blend idea. Silverfern is a small-batch roaster in New Taipei City Taiwan aimed at producing balanced coffees of a simple and approachable style. Visit the Silverfern Coffee Facebook page for more information.
Bottom Line
Pungent earth notes and tart, berryish fruit drive this low-toned but sweetly rich take on the Mocha-Java archetype.
