Blind Assessment
Complex, sweetly tart. Strawberry compote, hibiscus, panela, cocoa nib, mandarin zest in aroma and cup. Briskly sweet acidity; plush, syrupy mouthfeel. The finish is cocoa-toned, with berry undertones.
Notes
Produced by Olegario Herrera Carrada of La Cienega Farm, from trees of the Marsellesa and Typica varieties of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Utopian Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit www.utopiancoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A well-executed Oaxacan natural — juicy, floral-tinged fruit anchored by panela and cocoa nib, delivered with clarity and restraint.
