Blind Assessment
Deeply sweet, balanced and richly aromatic. Red apple, milk chocolate, toasted hazelnut, magnolia and caramel in aroma and cup. Bright, juicy acidity; plush, velvety-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is long and harmonious, with red apple, milk chocolate and caramel notes.
Notes
This coffee earned Finalist recognition in the Traditional Washed category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by Rosalba Cifuentes and the smallholding farmers of the Mayan Harvest Women’s Group, from trees of the Bourbon, Caturra and Catimor varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed process (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Old Soul is a roastery, bakery, and crafter of artisanal goods dedicated to quality in every form. Visit www.oldsoulco.com or call 916-443-7685 for more information.
Bottom Line
An exceptionally engaging washed Mexico that layers crisp fruit, chocolate and nut tones with floral nuance and caramel sweetness in a beautifully balanced cup.
