Blind Assessment
Brilliantly high-toned, intensely aromatic, fruit-saturated. Red currant, pomegranate, Meyer lemon, jasmine and wildflower honey in aroma and cup. Electrifying, complexly layered acidity; crisp, satiny-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is extraordinarily long and evocative, reverberating with pomegranate, Meyer lemon and jasmine notes.
Notes
This coffee won 3rd place (Bronze) in the Experimental category, International division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by the Hernandez Family of Finca Los Nogales, entirely of the Tabi variety of Arabica, and processed by a proprietary experimental washed method. SÖT Coffee Roaster, based in Osaka, Japan, is a self-described Swedish-style roaster with an “aggressively light” roasting style. For more information, visit www.sotcoffee.com.
Bottom Line
A vivid experimental Colombia Tabi that marries explosive red-fruit character with extraordinary acidity, floral lift and remarkable precision — exuberant yet impeccably controlled.
