Blind Assessment
High-toned, richly floral and impeccably balanced. Red plum, lilac, cocoa nib, lemon verbena and sugarcane in aroma and cup. Bright, juicy acidity; plush, satiny-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is long and graceful, with notes of layered stone fruit, sweet citrus and delicate cocoa.
Notes
Produced at Uluwehi Farm, from trees of the Red Bourbon variety of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed from before drying), with addition of wine yeasts to the fermentation step. Big Island Coffee Roasters is an award-winning coffee roaster operated with hands-on passion by Kelleigh Stewart and Brandon von Damitz. Visit www.bigislandcoffeeroasters.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A well-crafted Kona Red Bourbon whose meticulous fermentation amplifies the variety's natural sweetness while preserving the elegance and balance that distinguish Hawaii's finest coffees.
