Blind Assessment

Richly aromatic, sweet and deeply rounded. Black cherry, dark chocolate, roasted hazelnut, magnolia and maple syrup in aroma and cup. Softly juicy acidity; plush, velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long and resonant, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, magnolia and maple syrup.

Notes

Produced at Kona Earth, entirely of the Typica variety of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). This coffee consists entirely of peaberries, a kind of bean that results when the coffee fruit develops a single, oval bean rather than the usual pair of flat-sided beans. Kona Earth is a family-owned coffee farm and roastery in Holualoa, Hawaiʻi, where Steve and Joanie Wynn grow, roast and ship 100% Kona coffee directly from their estate. Since taking over the farm in 2021, the Wynns have invested in improved processing and roasting while emphasizing fair-wage labor, sustainable farming practices and community support through their Care In Every Cup program. Visit www.konaearth.com for more information.

Bottom Line

A poised Kona peaberry that combines stone fruit, chocolate and nut tones with floral nuance and deep sweetness in an especially full-bodied, persistent cup.
