Blind Assessment

Exceptionally rare and captivating. Honeydew melon, wild strawberry, toasted pistachio, vanilla bean, and amber oolong in aroma and cup. Bright, sparkling acidity; silky, nectar-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is remarkably long and elegant, carrying notes of melon, sweet cream and pistachio.

Notes

Produced by Kraig Lee, entirely of the Laurina (Bourbon Pointu) variety of Arabica, and processed by a proprietary method called “champagne natural,” in which fermentation using a wine yeast strain is applied to the whole fruit before it is dried. The Bourbon Pointu is famous for its naturally low levels of caffeine, bean shape (small and tending to be pointed at the ends, hence “pointu”), and pungently fruit-toned, Bourbon-like cup. Paradise prides itself on quality and freshness, craft-roasting coffees in small batches only after orders are placed. Visit www.paradiseroasters.com or call 808-498-4048 for more information.

Bottom Line

An extraordinarily rare expression of Kona that showcases the Laurina variety’s naturally delicate, low-caffeine character through layers of melon-like fruit, berry sweetness, tea-like refinement and effortless elegance.
