Blind Assessment
Bright, savory-sweet, classically structured. Red currant, pink grapefruit, cocoa nib, cedar and sweet tomato emerge in an elegantly balanced cup with vibrant, sparkling acidity and a round, satiny-smooth body. The finish narrows gracefully toward lingering citrus, dark chocolate, and softly herbaceous notes characteristic of many top Kenya coffees.
Notes
Produced at Yara Estate, from trees of the Ruiru 11, SL28 and SL34 varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). This coffee consists entirely of peaberries, a kind of bean that results when the coffee fruit develops a single, oval bean rather than the usual pair of flat-sided beans. Imported by Pebble Coffee. Kakalove Café is a nano-roaster located in the small city of Chia-Yi in Taiwan that strives to procure and roast the finest quality coffee. Visit www.kakalovecafe.com.tw or email kahiyuho@gmail.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A polished, high-definition Kenya peaberry that delivers both intensity and refinement, honoring the classic profile while emphasizing sweetness, structure, and aromatic precision.
