Blind Assessment
Sweetly tart, richly aromatic, balanced. Red currant, pink grapefruit zest, cocoa nib, lilac, oak forest in aroma and cup. Lively, juicy-bright acidity; full, viscous mouthfeel. The finish is crisp and resonant, with lingering red currant, cocoa nib and pink grapefruit zest.
Notes
This coffee won 3rd place (Bronze) in the Traditional Washed category, International division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by smallholding members of the Thirikwa Cooperative Society, from trees of the SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 varieties of Arabica, and processed at the Gakuyuini Factory by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Campos Coffee has locations in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, and Campos coffees can be found in hundreds of independent cafes throughout Australia. Bottom Line
A balanced, classically structured Kenya with vivid red fruit, richly bittersweet citrus and sweet florals, all anchored by a deep cocoa-toned sweetness.
