Blind Assessment

Vivid, juicy and deeply structured. Black currant, pink grapefruit zest, red plum, violet and cocoa powder in aroma and cup. Sparkling, wine-toned acidity; plush, syrupy body. The finish is long and resonant, with dark fruit and floral tones and a savory cocoa throughline.

Notes

Produced at Windrush Estate, entirely of the SL28 and Ruiru 11 varieties of Arabica, and processed by the traditional washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Dou Zhai Coffee & Roastery is a Taiwan-based specialty coffee roaster and cafe. Visit www.douzhaicafe.com for more information.

Bottom Line

A superb classic Kenya that combines currant-like intensity with bright citrus, floral nuance and a harmonious, long-lingering finish.
