Blind Assessment
Vibrant, classically Kenyan. Black currant, pink grapefruit, cocoa nib, lilac and sugarcane in aroma and cup. Sparkling, wine-like acidity; silky, buoyant mouthfeel. The finish is exceptionally long, carrying vivid berry, citrus and floral notes with distinctive harmony.
Notes
Produced by smallholding members of the Gitwe Farmers Cooperative Society, from trees of the Batian, SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 varieties of Arabica, and processed at the Karinga Factory by the washed method (fruit skiing and pulp removed before drying). Intuition Coffee is a specialty roaster and cafe based in Peoria, Illinois. Visit www.intuitioncoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A beautifully articulated washed Kenya that captures the origin's hallmark currant-like fruit, lively acidity and layered sweetness in an exceptionally elegant cup.
