Blind Assessment
Intensely aromatic, juicy, crisply sweet. Black currant, pomelo, cocoa nib, tomato blossom, freesia in aroma and cup. Bright, savory-sweet acidity; plush, syrupy mouthfeel. The finish is long and resonant, emphasizing black currant, cocoa nib and pomelo notes.
Notes
This coffee won 3rd place (Bronze) in the Traditional Washed category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by smallholding farmers surrounding the Karatu Coffee Factory and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Bottom Line
A classic yet unusually lush Kenya profile: vibrant, fruit-saturated and floral, with a deep cocoa throughline and impressive structure.
