Blind Assessment
Rich and fruit-forward with honeyed depth. Notes of dried mango, orange zest, gardenia, almond and cocoa powder in aroma and cup. Vivacious acidity; plush, full body. The finish is layered and persistent with interwoven fruit, floral nuance and cocoa powder.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers, from trees of the Caturra and Typica varieties of Arabica, and processed by the black honey method, in which much of the fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process. Big Island Coffee Roasters is an award-winning coffee roaster operated with hands-on passion by Kelleigh Stewart and Brandon von Damitz. Visit www.bigislandcoffeeroasters.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A generous and engaging Ka‘ū black honey — warm-toned, fruit-saturated and texturally luxurious with impressive balance and clarity.
