Blind Assessment
Deeply sweet, lush and quietly complex. Black cherry, pineapple, star jasmine, chocolate fudge and cashew butter in aroma and cup. Juicy, gently wine-like acidity; full, velvety-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is long and resonant, led by ripe fruit and chocolate with a delicate floral throughline.
Notes
This coffee won 3rd place (Bronze) in the Traditional Natural category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. This 100% Kaʻū coffee was produced by Lorie Obra of Rusty’s Hawaiian, one of Hawai'i’s best-known and most celebrated farms. Produced from trees of the traditional Typica variety of Arabica and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Bottom Line
A sumptuous natural- processed Kaʻū Typica that brings deep-toned fruit, chocolate richness and a luxurious mouthfeel together in a distinctive and beautifully balanced Hawai’i-grown coffee.
