Blind Assessment
Polished, harmonious and quietly complex. Red apple, tangerine, magnolia, toasted almond and dark chocolate in aroma and cup. Bright, rounded acidity; full, syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is long and composed, led by notes of red apple, magnolia and dark chocolate.
Notes
Produced at Clifton Mount Estate, entirely of the Typica variety of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Sea Island Coffee is a London-based roaster specializing in rare origins and varieties. Visit Seaislandcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
An exceptional Blue Mountain Typica distinguished less by sheer intensity than by seamless integration: gently vivid fruit and florals, deep chocolate and almond notes, and an unusually refined, balanced structure.
