Blind Assessment
Opulent, deeply sweet and magnificently full-bodied. Blackberry preserves, ripe plum, baking chocolate, magnolia and molasses in aroma and cup. Juicy, sparkling acidity; exceptionally dense, velvety mouthfeel. The finish is resonant and enveloping, with dark berry fruit and bittersweet chocolate lingering alongside rich magnolia tones.
Notes
Produced by the Gonzalez Family, from trees of the Bourbon and Catuai varieties of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). This coffee won 3rd place (Bronze) in the Traditional Natural category, International division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Visit www.lafamiliadelcafe.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A wonderfully voluptuous Guatemala natural whose extraordinary body anchors layers of berry and stone fruit, rich chocolate and deep floral sweetness in a powerful yet harmonious cup.
