Blind Assessment
Deeply sweet, balanced, confident. Dark chocolate, ripe plum, caramel, almond, tangerine in aroma and cup. Vibrant, integrated acidity; plush, satiny mouthfeel. The finish is long, leaning toward chocolate and stone fruit in the short and softening to a nutty sweetness in the long.
Notes
Produced by Luis Pedro Zelaya Zamora, from trees of the Bourbon and Caturra varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Utopian Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit www.utopiancoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A polished Guatemala cup: poised acidity, seamless structure, and satisfying layers of chocolate, fruit, and nut complexity.
