Blind Assessment
Rounded and sweetly spice-toned. Baking chocolate, cashew, honey, cinnamon, plum in aroma and cup. Gentle, balanced acidity; rich, velvety texture. Smooth, gently spice-toned finish.
Notes
Produced by the Sanchez family of Finca San José Ocaña, entirely of the Java variety of Arabica, and processed by the traditional washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). El Gran Cafe is a coffee shop located in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala whose mission is to roast and serve organic-certified coffees produced at its own Finca La Esperanza and Finca El Pintado just outside of town. Featured in El Gran Cafe’s lineup are also coffees from friends and neighbors in the region, along with award-winning and exceptional coffees from other regions of Guatemala. Visit El Gran Cafe’s website for more information.
Bottom Line
A warm, richly structured Guatemala Java with pleasing cocoa and spice interplay.
