Blind Assessment
Richly sweet, deeply fruity. Aromas and flavors of raspberry, cocoa nib, honey, lilac and Meyer lemon zest. Bright, gently tart acidity; syrupy, buoyant mouthfeel. The finish carries through with berry and cocoa tones, fading slowly toward sweet florals.
Notes
Dur Feres, which means "wild horse," is a blend of coffees from several southern Ethiopian washing stations, including Bombe, Qonqona, Shantawene, and Damo, all processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Souvenir Coffee, based in Berkeley, California, goes by the motto, “People first, then coffee.” Visit www.souvenir-coffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A juicy cocoa and berry-driven cup underpinned by floral complexity — a harmonious Ethiopia natural.
