Blind Assessment
High-toned, fruit-driven and sweetly floral. Notes of raspberry, pink grapefruit, jasmine, sugarcane and cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Bright, gently tart structure; syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is persistent and sweet, carrying berry and floral tones into a cocoa-driven long.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers in the Bensa District of the Sidamo Zone, from selections of landrace varieties of Arabica native to Ethiopia, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit) at the Ayla Testi Washing Station. Bear Lake Coffee Co., a B Corp-certified coffeehouse and roastery located in Barronett, Wisconsin, is committed to sustainability through its Coffee with a Purpose™ initiative, which ensures that farmers receive compensation well above the Fairtrade Premium for their exceptional small-batch coffee. Bottom Line
A lively Sidamo natural with graceful fruit and floral sweetness supported by a cocoa-nib undertone — buoyant, engaging, invitingly complex.
