Blind Assessment
Radiantly aromatic, juicy and finely layered. Apricot, Meyer lemon, jasmine, bergamot and cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Vibrant, crystalline acidity; viscous, satiny-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is exceptionally long and fragrant, with apricot, jasmine and cocoa nib resonating.
Notes
This coffee earned Finalist recognition in the Traditional Washed category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by smallholding farmers for Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo of Daye Bensa Exports, from trees of local landrace varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Revel Coffee is a micro-roaster located in Billings, Montana. Its motto: “Quality is paramount — a difference you can revel in.” Visit www.revelcoffee.com or call 406-534-9621 for more information.
Bottom Line
An exceptional washed Sidamo with brilliant citrus and succulent stone fruit framed by soaring florals, cocoa sweetness and a remarkably balanced, persistent structure.
