Blind Assessment
Opulent, fruit-saturated and impressively composed. Blueberry, pomegranate, mango, violet and cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Vibrant, juicy acidity; full, velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long and expressive, with notes of blueberry, violet and cocoa nib.
Notes
Produced by Daniso Horsa, from trees of local landrace varieties of Arabica, and processed by the anaerobic natural method, in which the whole fruit is fermented in tanks with limited oxygen before drying. Oak & Bond is a specialty retail and wholesale coffee roaster based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company’s name combines “oak,” a reference to its first coffee, a barrel-aged release, and “bond,” referring to the founders’ happy marriage. For more information, visit www.oakandbondcoffee.com.
Bottom Line
A boldly fruit-driven anaerobic Sidamo whose berry and tropical fruit intensity is tempered by violet and cocoa, maintaining impressive clarity and balance despite its exuberant processing.
