Blind Assessment
Fruit-forward and floral, with layered depth. Pomegranate, raspberry, star jasmine, cocoa nib, pink peppercorn in aroma and cup. Sweetly tart structure with crisp, juicy acidity; satiny-smooth, buoyant mouthfeel. Finish consolidates around notes of berry and cocoa, with a gently spicy floral lift.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers, entirely of the 74158 variety of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit) at Bekele Utute’s drying station. Utopian Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit www.utopiancoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A vibrant natural-processed Ethiopia that nicely balances fruit, floral, and cocoa nib notes with poise and complexity.
