Blind Assessment: Balanced, sweetly crisp. Floral-toned peach and a tart, mandarin orange dominate, rounded by a backgrounded nut-toned chocolate. Brisk, sweet-toned acidity; silky mouthfeel. The chocolate suggestion carries into a clean finish.
Notes: Dominican Republic occupies the eastern two-thirds of the large Caribbean island of Santo Domingo. The Dominican Republic’s high-grown and usually bright, balanced, clean coffees are widely admired among coffee professionals though typically overlooked by consumers. Equator is a specialty roaster based in the San Francisco Bay Area driven by “passion for quality and sustainability.” Visit www.equatorcoffees.com or call 800-809-7687 for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Balance without boredom in a lively, lighter-roasted cup.
