Blind Assessment
Sweetly fruit-forward and composed. Honeydew, milk chocolate, candied orange zest, marigold and sugarcane in aroma and cup. Gentle, rounded acidity; syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is persistent, with sustained notes of citrus zest, florals, and cocoa sweetness.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers, from trees of the Catuai and Caturra varieties of Arabica, and processed by the honey method (some fruit flesh left on the beans during the drying process) under low-oxygen conditions. Utopian Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit www.utopiancoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A deftly executed low-oxygen honey from Costa Rica with layered fruit and floral sweetness, anchored by chocolate and soft acidity.
