Blind Assessment
Sweetly structured, fruit- and caramel-toned. Date, Meyer lemon zest, salted caramel, almond butter and marjoram in aroma and cup. Gently bright acidity; lithe, silky body. The finish is smooth and lingering, with notes of caramel and citrus.
Notes
Produced by siblings Alexander and Magali Delgado and their spouses of Finca La Alquimia, entirely of the SL28 variety of Arabica, and processed at the Cerro San Luis Micromill by the yellow honey method, in which a small amount of fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process. Founded in 1990, Roadmap CoffeeWorks, formerly Lexington Coffee Roasters, is an award-winning artisan roasting company based in Lexington, Virginia. Roadmap CoffeeWorks focuses on producing fresh, distinctive and sustainable coffees. Visit www.roadmapcoffeeworks.com or call 800-322-6505 for more information.
Bottom Line
A vivid yellow honey Costa Rica that balances ripe fruit sweetness with caramel depth — especially energetic mouthfeel.
