Blind Assessment
Graceful, succulent and intricately layered. White peach, pink grapefruit, honeysuckle, young ginger and wildflower honey in aroma and cup. Vibrant, juicy acidity; silky-smooth, buoyant mouthfeel. The finish is expansive and finely detailed, with notes of white peach, honeysuckle and fresh ginger.
Notes
Produced by Gonzalo Hernandez at Coffea Diversa farm, entirely of the Geisha variety of Arabica, and processed by the honey method, in which some of the fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process. Sea Island Coffee is a London-based roaster specializing in rare origins and varieties. Visit Seaislandcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
An exceptional honey-processed Costa Rica Geisha that combines high-toned fruit and florals with an unusual ginger-like aromatic throughline, while honey processing lends sweetness and breadth without compromising the variety’s elegance and clarity.
