Blind Assessment
Vivid, succulent and finely structured. Red raspberry, yellow plum, pink grapefruit, magnolia and chocolate truffle in aroma and cup. Bright, juicy acidity; full, satiny mouthfeel. The finish is long and expressive, with notes of red raspberry, magnolia and chocolate truffle.
Notes
Produced by Luz Helena Salazar of Finca La Leona, entirely of the Pink Bourbon variety of Arabica, and processed by the washed method, with an extended (30-hour) underwater fermentation. This coffee earned Finalist recognition in the Experimental category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Steel Oak Coffee is a community-driven, small-batch specialty roaster based in Ormond Beach, Florida. Visit www.steeloakcoffee.com for more information.
Bottom Line
An exceptional Pink Bourbon whose extended fermentation brings saturated fruit and floral complexity to a beautifully structured washed profile, balancing exuberance with clarity, sweetness and finesse.
