Blind Assessment
Dazzlingly aromatic, citrus-driven, intensely floral. Mandarin, pink grapefruit, raspberry yogurt, lemon verbena and sugarcane in aroma and cup. Brilliant, sparkling acidity; buoyant, silky-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is exceptionally long and vivid, with citrus, berry and sweet herb notes continually resurfacing.
Notes
This coffee won 1st place (Gold) in the Experimental category, International division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by Jhon Rodriguez of Finca Río Negro, entirely of the Pink Bourbon variety of Arabica, and processed by the thermal shock method and fermented with citrus fruit. Bottom Line
An exhilarating Pink Bourbon whose cofermentation with citrus produces extraordinary aromatic intensity and electric structure while preserving sweetness, clarity and elegance.
