Blind Assessment
Vividly aromatic, fruit-saturated and deeply sweet. Blackberry, red plum, blood orange, candied violet and chocolate fudge in aroma and cup. Bright, succulent acidity; full, velvety-smooth mouthfeel. The finish is expansive and flavor-laden, with notes of blackberry, candied violet and chocolate fudge.
Notes
This coffee earned Finalist recognition in the Experimental category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by Miryan Mercedes de la Cruz of Finca El Naranjo, from trees of the Colombia and Castillo variety of Arabica, and processed by the white honey method, in which a small amount of fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process.. Telluride Coffee Roasters is a Colorado-based specialty roaster founded by coffee veteran Mick Hill in 1991. For more information, visit telluridecoffeeroasters.net.
Bottom Line
An exceptional Nariño natural with concentrated dark fruit and citrus framed by violet-like florals and deep chocolate, combining impressive intensity with the high-toned brightness characteristic of this elevated growing region.
