Blind Assessment
Vivid, juicy and richly aromatic. Blackberry, ripe nectarine, passionfruit, hibiscus and cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Vibrant, fruit-toned acidity; full, velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long and flavor-saturated, with notes of blackberry, hibiscus and cocoa nib.
Notes
This coffee earned Finalist recognition in the Traditional Natural category, U.S. division, of the inaugural Kenneth Davids Cup. Produced by Juan Saldarriaga and team of Finca La Claudina and Finca El Encanto, from trees of the Castillo, Tabi and Colombia varieties of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Little While is a coffee roaster, bakery and cafe in San Diego, California. Visit www.littlewhilesd.com for more information.
Bottom Line
An exuberant Colombia natural with a fruit-bomb profile of ripe berry, stone and tropical fruit, balanced by tart florals and cocoa in a deep-toned, energetic cup.
